Abstract Content:

To explore the nursing measures and effect evaluation of midline catheter in intravenous infusion of pediatric neurosurgery critical patients.

Methods:

The clinical data of 42 children with midline catheters maintenance measures, retention days and complications were analyzed retrospectively. It includes the routine procedures of child midline catheter catheterization, post catheterization education, routine maintenance procedures in use, and prevention and treatment of complications; In particular, it is necessary to prevent the catheter from being taken out when putting on and taking off clothes. If the catheter is pulled out of the body accidentally, it is strictly prohibited to put the catheter in by itself. Results the indwelling time of midline catheter was 5 ~ 7 days in 5 cases, 8 ~ 15 days in 24 cases and 16 ~ 21 days in 13 cases; Mechanical phlebitis occurred in 5 patients, including 1 case of mild infection at the puncture site and 2 cases of extubation due to venous leakage.

Results:

The indwelling time of midline catheter was 5 ~ 7 days in 5 cases, 8 ~ 15 days in 24 cases and 16 ~ 21 days in 13 cases; Mechanical phlebitis occurred in 5 patients, including 1 case of mild infection at the puncture site and 2 cases of extubation due to venous leakage.

Conclusion:

Compared with internal jugular vein and subclavian vein puncture, midline catheter placement has the advantages of simple, safe and convenient operation. Puncture under direct vision vessels can avoid the occurrence of hemothorax, pneumothorax and other complications caused by blind puncture; Compared with peripherally inserted central venous catheter, it reduces the economic cost; The medium length catheter provides a reliable intravenous infusion channel for patients, which can safely infuse drugs, protect patients' blood vessels, reduce patients' repeated puncture pain, improve patients' quality of life, and reduce nurses' workload.
