Prof. Datta has been engaged in research on tumor biology during last 20 years, especially the role and mechanism of TGF - β signaling pathway in colon cancer and lung cancer. He has received more than 20 funding grants in the United States, including R01, VA, R21, with a total funding of over 15 million US dollars. He has Published over 40 high-level papers in internationally renowned journals such as Gastroenterology, Cancer Res., Nat Commun., Stem Cells and J Biol Chem. etc, obtained 2 authorized US invention patents, edited/co edited 10 monographs, and trained 34 master's/doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows.
