Dr. Carine de Marcos Lousa did her PhD in Bordeaux (France) on mitochondrial transporters. After various post-doctoral positions in Greece and the UK, working on membrane proteins and vacuolar trafficking, she established her own laboratory in 2015.
Her lab works on extracellular vesicles (EVs) from N.benthamiana apoplastic fluid. The lab focuses on various aspects such as EVs biogenesis, characterisation and targeting, with the particular aim to use plant EVs as vehicles for therapeutic delivery of bioactive molecules.
