Dr. Mark Simms is Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is board certified in General Pediatrics and was one of the first pediatricians in the United States to be certified in the subspecialty of Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Dr. Simms received his Master of Public Health degree in the area of International Child Health from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. He was Chief of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics and Medical Director of the Child Development Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin for over 26 years before retiring in November 2020. During his long career, Dr. Simms served on the faculties of Johns’ Hopkins University, the University of Cincinnati, Yale University, the University of Connecticut. His professional interests include the care of children with language and learning disorders, children in the foster care system, and children adopted from international settings.

 

For over 41 years, Dr. Simms has enjoyed close personal and professional relationships with Chinese developmental and behavioral pediatricians and has worked very closely with colleagues at Shanghai Children’s Medical Center and Jiao tong University. He has visited China many times and has had the pleasure of hosting many Chinese colleagues in the US.
