Professor Li graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine and received his paediatric training at King’s College Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital, United Kingdom. He joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong as an assistant professor in August 2001. His training took him back to the UK where he worked as a clinical research fellow at the Royal Bromton Hospital, London in 2002, under the guidance of Prof. Andy Bush. His clinical and research interest is in respiratory and sleep medicine.

Albert is person-in-charge of the Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Service in the Department of Paediatrics, Prince of Wales Hospital. He is currently associate editor of Frontiers in Paediatric Pulmonology and Respirology. He is also vice-chairperson of the Asia Pacific Paediatric Sleep Alliance. He has published over 220 peer-reviewed articles.
