Dr. Wai Ming Lai graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1985. He has pursued training in paediatric nephrology in the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London in 1992 and the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada in 1996. He has thirty years’ experience in paediatric nephrology with special interest in chronic kidney disease, dialysis and kidney transplantation in children. He is dedicated to the development of paediatric nephrology service in Hong Kong. He has been the consultant of the Paediatric Nephrology Center at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) and has established the paediatric peritoneal dialysis program, chronic haemodialysis program and kidney transplantation program in the center. He has commissioned the translocation of the paediatric nephrology center from PMH to the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH). He is at present the Consultant of the Paediatric Nephrology Center of the HKCH. He is the present President of the Hong Kong Paediatric Nephrology Society and the Treasurer of the Asian Pediatric Nephrology Association..
