Dr. Saw Aik is currently practicing in University Malaya Specialist Centre (UMSC). He is an honorary professor of Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. As an Orthopaedic surgeon, he specialized in Paediatric Orthopaedics and Limb Deformity Correction surgery. He was the past president of ASAMI Malaysia, Malaysian Orthopaedic Association (MOA), and Asia Pacific Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (APPOS). He is currently a council member of ASEAN Orthopaedic Association (AOA), and secretary general of Asia Pacific Association of Medical Editors (APAME). He is the former chief editor of the Malaysian Orthopaedic Journal. Over the past 2 decades, Dr. Saw Aik has visited hospitals in developing countries to provide voluntary service and training local doctors. He has hosted many clinical fellows from various countries in Asia and Africa. In 2015, he was appointed as the director of Silent Mentor Program, faculty of medicine, University of Malaya.
