王东进，医学博士，主任医师，南京大学医学博士后导师，南京大学、南京医科大学、北京协和医学院、南京中医药大学、东南大学、江苏大学、徐州医科大学教授、博硕士生导师，享受国务院政府特殊津贴。现为江苏省大血管疾病诊疗中心主任，南京市心血管病临床医学中心主任，南京大学心胸血管疾病研究所所长，鼓楼医院心脏外科行政主任。担任国际微创胸心外科学会委员、中国医药生物技术协会心血管外科技术与工程分会副主任委员、中国医师协会心血管外科医师分会常委、中国研究型医院学会心脏瓣膜病学专业委员会常委、国家心血管病专家委员会微创心血管外科专业委员会常务委员、中国医师协会机器人外科医师分会委员、江苏省医学会心血管外科分会主任委员、江苏省医学会心血管外科分会大血管外科学组组长、南京医学会胸心血管外科专科分会委员会名誉主任委员。已参加各类心血管手术并主刀超万例，手术范围涵盖先心病、瓣膜病、冠心病、胸部动脉瘤等各种心血管手术的最高难度部分，手术成功率在99%以上。尤其是其1997年首创的右腋下小切口心脏手术技术在国内外学术界产生广泛影响。

He serves as a member of the International Society of Minimally Invasive Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery, vice chairman of the Cardiovascular Surgery Technology and Engineering Branch of the China Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Association, standing committee of the Cardiovascular Surgeons Branch of the Chinese Physicians Association, standing committee of the Heart Valvular Disease Specialized Committee of the Chinese Society of Research Hospitals, standing committee of the Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular Surgery Specialized Committee of the National Committee of Experts on Cardiovascular Diseases, and member of the Robotic Surgeons Branch of the Chinese Physicians Association, He is the chairman of the Cardiovascular Surgery Branch of Jiangsu Medical Association, the head of the Large Vessel Surgery Group of the Cardiovascular Surgery Branch of Jiangsu Medical Association, and the honorary chairman of the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Branch Committee of Nanjing Medical Association. He has participated in all kinds of cardiovascular surgeries and has been the chief surgeon for more than 10,000 cases, and the scope of surgeries covers the most difficult parts of various cardiovascular surgeries such as coronary heart disease, valvular disease, coronary heart disease, thoracic aneurysm, and so on, and the success rate of the surgeries is above 99%.
