Former positions include: Director of the Chinese Society for Microsurgery (CSM), Vice President of the Chinese Society for Repair and Reconstructive Surgery (CSRRS), Member of the Science and Technology Committee of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), Director of the PLA Professional Committee for Microsurgery, Director of the Shanghai Society for Repair and Reconstruction, Vice President of the Chinese Chapter of the International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS), and Council Member of the Chinese Medical Association (CMA).
He has been awarded titles including: Top 10 Young and Middle-aged Physicians in Shanghai, Top 10 Science and Technology Elites in Shanghai, Outstanding Teacher of the PLA, PLA Science and Technology Silver Star, and recipient of the Special Government Allowance in 1993. In 1994, he was honored as a National Outstanding Contribution Young and Middle-aged Expert by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the General Political Department of the PLA.
