Senior Scientist and Microsurgery Training Mentor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in microsurgery education, neural interface technology, and transplantation research.
Before joining the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he studied under Dr. Wei Chen at the University of Iowa, focusing on supermicrosurgery and lymphedema reconstruction. Prior to that, he served as an attending physician in the Hand Surgery and Microsurgery Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University in Liaoning, China, accumulating extensive clinical practice and research experience.
He is currently an active member of the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM) and an international member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
Since 2017, Professor Zeng has been dedicated to microsurgery education for resident physicians with great enthusiasm.
He has developed highly realistic simulators and efficient teaching curricula for residents in plastic surgery, otolaryngology, urology, and neurosurgery. Professor Zeng's guidance has helped residents across multiple disciplines build confidence and competence in the operating room. He also oversees the annual "University of Wisconsin Microsurgery Training Course" involving multiple institutions and actively engages in basic scientific research. He has provided microsurgical services and technical support for several major research projects, including limb/kidney/liver transplantation, engineered vascular grafts, and the development of neural interfaces. These projects have secured over $20 million in funding.
