He specialises in total bunion and finger reconstruction, series of super microsurgical free flaps for repairing miniature wounds, microsurgical repair of severe limb injuries and deformities, and repair of tissue defects in various parts of the body using microscopic reconstruction techniques. He was the first to create toe widening surgery, and the first to apply toe widening and phalangeal lengthening techniques to total bunion reconstruction.
He is the chief translator of "Hand Tendon Surgery"; chief editor of "Atlas of Wistar Rat Anatomy"; associate editor of "Atlas of Clinical Anatomy in Microsurgery"; co-editor of "Atlas of Hand Surgery Anatomy" and more than ten medical monographs. He has given keynote speeches at FESSH (European Federation for Surgery of the Hand) and IFSSH (International Federation for Surgery of the Hand) conferences for many times; he has been invited as a special guest and given keynote speeches at WRSM (World Society for Microscopic Reconstructive Surgery) conferences. He is a visiting scholar at Brown University, USA. He won the first International Society for Supermicrographic Surgery (ICSM) Vascular Anastomosis Competition.
