Call for Abstract

CAP welcomes abstract submissions for the 1st Annual Meeting of CAP, June 21-23, 2024! All the abstracts will be scored and selected for oral and poster presentations. Selected abstracts will have the opportunity to publish in the Journal of Pancreatology. All submissions must be completed through the official website of CAP (https://cap.org.cn) prior to the deadline for consideration. There is NO submission fee required for each abstract.

ABSTRACT GUIDLINES

Authors who submit an abstract should confirm that they have not previously published these data, that they have not previously presented them at a large national annual scientific meeting, and that they are not planning to present or publish them prior to the dates of this meeting.


Format:

The following elements are required for every submission:

  • Title. Include a descriptive title of the work; the title should not be a sentence. No proprietary or brand names for drugs or agents may be used in abstract titles.
Please enter the title of your abstract in sentence case; that is, capitalize only the first letter of the first word of the title, the first word after a colon, and any proper nouns or abbreviations.
Sample:
Correct :Microarray analyses in pancreatic cancer: Inhibition of SMAD4 upregulates HNF4G
Incorrect:Microarray Analyses In Pancreatic Cancer: Inhibition Of SMAD4 Upregulates HNF4G or MICROARRAY ANALYSES IN PANCREATIC CANCER: INHIBITION OF SMAD4 UPREGULATES HNF4G
  • Authors. The full first name, middle initials, and family name of each author, as well as Department/Division, Institution, City and Country.
  • Email for correspondence. A current email address for the corresponding author must be provided.
  • Abstract. Abstracts are limited to 450 words, which is structured and should briefly describe:
 (1) Objective: an introductory sentence indicating the purposes of the study;
 (2) Methods: a brief description of pertinent methods and experimental procedures;
 (3) Results: a summary of the new, unpublished data; 
 (4) Conclusion: a statement of the conclusions. No figure, table or reference should be included in the abstract

Important:

  1. Abstracts can be submitted in English only
  2. The abstract must be text and must not exceed 450 words (not counting the title of the abstract or author string)
  3. No reference to the authors or the institutions should appear within the body of the abstract
  4. Graphics, figures and tables are NOT allowed
  5. Abbreviations may be used in the body of an abstract if they are defined at their first mention in the text. Complex therapeutic regimens must be identified
  6. Please make sure your abstract contains only generic drug names. Abstracts with trade names in the title or body may be precluded from poster or presentation
  7. Notification will be sent via email to the corresponding author of the accepted abstracts. Please ensure that the name and email address of the corresponding author are provided correctly
  8. You do not need to be a member of CAP to submit an abstract
  9. Video materials are welcome to submit, which could be detailed in text


Publication of abstracts in Journal of Pancreatology

Abstracts accepted for poster or oral presentation can be considered for publication in Proceedings supplement to Journal of Pancreatology before the meeting. So please confirm that you agree to publish your abstract in Journal of Pancreatology when you submit. Once the abstracts are published in the journal, additional requests for edits and withdrawals cannot be processed. Therefore, abstract authors should carefully read their abstracts before submission to ensure that all authors are listed correctly and that the text is correct. There is NO publication fee required for each abstract.


Withdraw

Requests to withdraw regular abstracts will be accepted through May 15, 2024.  Withdrawal requests must be sent by email to capmeetingchina@outlook.com. Withdrawal requests must include the Abstract Number and title as well as an explanation of the reason for withdrawal. Requests to edit or withdraw abstract cannot be processed after the deadlines.


Presentation types:

There is no manuscript submission required, though submission the Journal of Pancreatology is encouraged. If your abstract is not selected as an Oral presentation, it will automatically be considered for a Poster presentation. Please indicate if you do not want an Oral presentation when submitting your abstract.


Please note that as a presenting author you need to register for the meeting after your abstract has been accepted.

TRAVEL GRANTS

The CAP will award travel grants to the presenting author whose abstract is selected for Oral presentation, but do not have other funding to attend the 2024 CAP annual meeting.
